History of Easter
Easter is one of the prominent holidays of Christians. As per the
New Testament of the Bible, “the son of God” Jesus was arrested by the Roman
authorities. Pontius Pilate, a Roman prefect sentenced Jesus to death by
crucifixion. Good Friday, the Friday before Easter marks crucifixion.
Significance
As per Christianity, the death of Jesus paid the sins of humanity and his resurrection signifies that men who follow faith will be welcomed into the “Kingdom of Heaven” after death. In Christianity Easter is symbolic of the defeat of death and the hope of salvation. The New Testament of the Bible describes the resurrection of Jesus as the foundation of Christianity.
Custom and Traditions
Christians all over the world celebrate Easter to commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Easter marks the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is celebrated as a joyous feast. Following the tradition, Easter 2022 is a very significant holiday amongst the followers of Christianity. Easter Sunday is celebrated in the week following Good Friday.
Cultural celebration
People sing hymns and hold services on Easter. Many non-traditional festivities, namely Easter eggs and Easter bunny are also celebrated on Easter. Such fun activities are a modern way to celebrate Easter Sunday.
